The Concept
Sports Turf Industries developed the Decompactor based on the simple fact that compacted soils have a greater resistance to penetration, and therefore all aeration equipment must mechanically force a device into the soil in order to fracture the soil structure. The Decompactor's logical, tapered teeth allow for concentrated pressure on a very small surface to create a granular shift of compacted soils. The frictional properties of the soil carries the weight of the drum and the teeth and limits the drum's ability to compact the turf. As a result the Decompactor penetrates deeply and fractures the soil structure.
Deep Aeration
The Decompactor is designed with strategically-spaced teeth that penetrate the soil up to 8" deep. The unique design of the teeth moves the soil horizontally and alleviates soil compaction. Aerating the turf to a level of 8" allows more efficient use of water, oxygen and fertilizer and helps develop a healthier, more durable turf.
Debris Free
The aerating process does not have to leave debris. The Decompactor rotary-designed drum and teeth aggressively penetrate the ground, but the distinctive design rotates cleanly out of the turf. It creates no debris to clean up, drag or pulverize. The Decompactor teeth are aggressive, but this less-destructive method of aeration allows athletes to use the field on the same day.
